Didier Drogba wants to retire at Chelsea

Didier Drogba feels like a real blue fan. Indeed, the Ivory Coast's striker assures he wants to finish his career at English champions Chelsea.

The talented player, who signed a four-year contract earlier this month, has won over the fans after an unstable first season following his move in July 2004.

"I'm 28 and I am definitely thinking of ending my career in Chelsea - if that's what the fans want," said the man who has already scored 14 goals for his team this season.

"However, I will play the game until I can no longer push myself. At one time I did think about leaving Chelsea because of many reasons. I regard the new deal with Chelsea as reward for hard work - but I also want to repay the club for keeping the faith."

"I want to stay because of the encouragement I've received from our manager (Jose Mourinho). Besides, the friends I have here have been so supportive.

"Our supporters are awesome, every player wants to play in a place where he is fully accepted and I've found that here at Chelsea."

We must consider that Drogba's goalscoring form has been a revelation this season but the striker has already set his sights on breaking more records with Chelsea.

The strong footballer says the reigning champions want to win all four trophies on offer this season - the Premiership, FA Cup, League Cup and Uefa Champions League.

"After signing the new contract I told myself this is the time to work hard," the Ivory Coast striker said.

"And then I can hopefully bring even more glory to our club and honour to myself."
