Painful week for Frank Lampard
One of the most important Chelsea stars, Frank Lampard, has broken a bone in his wrist while on England duty this week.According to the official version, Lampard was set to play in Wednesday's Euro 2008 qualifier against Andorra but suffered a cracked bone and possible ligament damage in a training session on Monday.
At first, Frank Lampard was set to feature with his hand protected until it was discovered the injury is far worse than was first thought.
It's possible that the damage was done after the 29-year-old got in the way of a Wayne Rooney shot.
Lampard's injury is the last thing Chelsea need with just eight games to go to obliterate Manchester United's six-point lead at the top of the English Premiership.
We must remember that Lampard is rated doubtful for Saturday's trip to Watford though the club are expected to explore the chances of him playing at Vicarage Road with a cast.
